July 29, 2005, Newsletter Issue #2: Making your automated bid management run faster

Tip of the Week

Make your bid file run more efficiently by performing the following adjustments:

* Decrease the frequency of checking keyword phrases where you are the sole bidder. You could probably check these keyword phrase once a day or even once per week. This will give BidRank more time to monitor your more volatile or competitive keyword phrases.

* Eliminate or decrease the monitoring of "grandfathered" bids. If you are happy with holding on to the grandfathered bid, then there is no need to spend processing time checking it.

* Day Parting can be advantageous if you know your customers and the times that they convert best. Use the advanced automation to check your important and competitive keywords more often during the best time of the day and/or days of the week.

* If you have keywords that do not yet have any competition then you need not manage those terms. Mark them as “inactive” in the bid file. This allows the bid file to run faster because it does not need to process those terms. Yet, they are still in the bid file and ready to be set to “active” periodically so that you can verify whether or not they have any competition.

These efficiency tips will help you keep your competitive keywords running more often and keep your ROI at its higher levels.
